Liz Gizelle

Liz Gizelle, owner of 217 Beauty, is a makeup artist who provides makeup and hair for special events. She started as a part-time MAC makeup artist after being recruited, having been a regular MAC customer, and later became a full-time Certified MAC Artist and was promoted to a managerial role overseeing operations and staff at four MAC locations. Her training came through MAC's employee classes in color theory and in period, bridal, television, photographic, camouflage, contouring and HD airbrushing makeup. She earned Fashion Show Certification within a year of becoming a full-time MAC artist. She has worked ten seasons of New York Fashion Week at Bryant Park and has collaborated with designers including Malandrino, Diesel, DKNY and Jill Stuart. Her specialties include HD Airbrush Makeup, Traditional Makeup, special occasion hair design and eyelash application. Her client work includes Vi Magazine, Danity Kane, the 2007 NBA Calendar Wives, Broadway Cares and bridal and wedding parties. Since 2011 she has done makeup for celebrity agents on HGTV's Selling New York, among them Michele Kleier, Deborah Lupard, Shaun Osher and Lucie Holt. She has also provided makeup for singer and celebrity stylist O'Neal McKnight and talk show host Cat Greenleaf, and does hair and makeup for guests on The Way Home. At trials she invites clients to ask for changes, and she has never wanted to keep a client from a different look. She only employs artists at her own level, whatever their style.
