Hair By Laurese is owned by Laurese Swanson, who also styles clients there. She began braiding hair and took on her first client two years later. Before that, at 16, she had already worked as an intern and receptionist in a salon. Moving to Los Angeles at 25, she has since worked at Comoprof, The Hair Shop, Dream Girls salon and The Hair Pin House of DTLA. She trained at a cosmetology school, which lost its funding a month before her scheduled graduation, and later earned a cosmetology license in Los Angeles, CA. She has years of hands-on experience in top salons across Los Angeles. Her services include braiding, hair trimming, cuts and color. Each style is tailored to the client, and she asks clients to book by phone or text.
