About

Laura B owns and founded Ara Bee Collective and works as a hairstylist and makeup artist. She graduated from the Aveda Institute in 2009 and started at the Juut training academy in 2011, where she trained in hair styling, hair cutting and special occasion hair and makeup. She spent 13 years at Juut salon and now works as an independent stylist at Gem salon in Northeast Minneapolis.

She has done wedding and special occasion hair and makeup for more than 17 years and specializes in weddings for all hair textures and skin tones. She aims for each wedding client to feel confident and seen on the day. She also cuts and styles men's and women's hair, with haircuts at $100, blowouts at $85 and luxury blowouts at $100.

Beyond weddings, she provides commercial hair and makeup for brands, agencies and production teams, with clients including 3M, Buffalo Wild Wings, General Mills, Boston Scientific, Carmichael Lynch and Soona. Her editorial and fashion work includes Elle South Korea, Minnesota Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week, and she has been lead hair stylist and makeup artist on numerous commercial campaigns. She began working in film with a small Minneapolis-based production crew.

She has worked with some of Aveda's top makeup artists, guest hosted makeup events for Juut, and done makeup for Minnesota Fashion Week and the Weisman Art Museum student fashion show.
