LaQuita Burnett

LaQuita Burnett owns Freedom Curls and works as its lead curl artist. She trained at Harold Beauty Academy in 2009 and has since completed DevaCurl levels one through three and Art of Texture between 2015 and 2018, plus Forever Curls and Cut It Kinky education in 2020 and Texture Summit education in 2022.

Her teaching work is extensive. She has been an educator for Blonde Solutions, including an international stint in Spain from January 2023 to 2024, and served as an educator and platform artist for Blonde Solutions at the Bronner Brother Hair Show in 2024. She has also taught for Texture Vs Race, as a Cut It Kinky Color Intensity educator, for K18 in Canada, for Innersense from February 2025, and for Curlology from April 2026. In 2024 she taught at the Forever Curls Academy Pop Up and at Orlando Premier.

Her page lists a Curly Hair Artistry Certification from 2019 and a Cadō Level 1 Certification from November 2023. It also lists a Balayage Top 5 Finalist placement at the One Shot Hair Awards in 2022, a Natural Texture Top 25 nomination there in 2023, and a Forbes article feature in November 2022.

Her services include Ice Me Out Platinum Blonding, Curlayage Highlights, single and double process color, curl cutting, and specialty styling for weddings, silk press, rod sets and two strand twists. She also takes editorial, on-set and travel work and offers clip-in extensions.
