Lakia Diggs

Lakia Diggs holds the Master Cosmetologist credential and owns The Kia Xperience. With more than two decades working as a cosmetologist, she serves clients of every hair type and texture. Her core services are weave installation, precision cutting and advanced custom color.

Outside the salon, her freelance styling has appeared in Vogue, NYFW, Essence, BravoTV and Hello Beautiful. At New York Fashion Week, her work has appeared for brands such as Vogue, Essence, BET and BravoTV. She has done runway work for designers such as LaQuan Smith, Sergio Hudson, Romeo Hunte, Roberto Cavalli, Oscar de la Renta and Jeremy Scott. Her regular clients come from New York, the DMV area and Atlanta. Her clients have included DeWanda Wise, TS Madison, Wendy Osefo, Chrissy Lampkin, Ming Lee Simmons, Kayla Nicole and Vice President Kamala Harris.

She is a Certified Pravana Colorist and keeps up her skills through continuing education coursework. She is working toward certification in trichology but has not yet completed it. She also teaches hairstylists about levels of hair care, business management, client retention, refreshing for state board exams and branding. She is a member of the Maryland branch of the Professional Beauty Association, where she serves as State Captain. She also works as a desairologist, providing hair and makeup services for the deceased.
