Kim Hansen

Kim owns BLU Salon + Apothecary and works there as a master stylist, bringing more than 35 years of hair care experience. The career started at a salon on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, where Kim trained under a stylist. Training at Vidal Sassoon included extensive study of cutting for women and men. At 28, Kim launched a first salon in Arcadia. Natural-looking color is a focus, from subtle highlights and lowlights to balayage, alongside classic bobs, textured pixies and modern shags. Permanent wave services were a large part of early work, with thousands performed. The approach is to enhance a client's features rather than make drastic changes. Consultations begin with listening to what the client wants, then shaping the look together while explaining the process, upkeep and pricing. Kim writes the salon's blog and founded TNL Salon Services, a consulting and education firm, in 2017. Advisory council seats have included the Westfield Mall Group, Groupon and the Professional Beauty Federation of California.
