About
Keiko is the owner of PURESTHETIQUE and works there as a therapist. Her background spans esthetics and holistic therapies, built up in New York, India and Japan. She holds a degree in child education from Otsuma Women's University and studied interior design at the Fashion Institute of Technology for five years. From 1995 to 2004 she worked as a buying merchandiser, sourcing for international department stores and apparel trading firms, and afterward moved into textile design, production and freelance consulting for Japanese companies. Earlier jobs included teaching swimming at an elementary school during college and working at Apple computer Japan in its early years. Her holistic certifications include Usui Reiki Levels 1, 2 and Master, Kundalini Reiki Master training, a Japanese Ki-Koh energy healing work certificate from 2009, and a beginner diploma in Ohashi Shiatsu. On the esthetics side she is a NY State licensed esthetician (2011) and a certified laser tech through Sunshine Med Spa (2009). She is also a certified Ayurveda beauty practitioner from KAL Hospital in South India (2013), and holds a British Champissage massage diploma (2014), an aromatherapy certificate (2015) and a CBD cosmetic formulation course diploma (2019). Her main focus is head, neck and shoulder massage, including Dry Head Spa and a holistic head massage that works the back, neck, shoulders, jaw and head, as well as lymphatic facial work. Clients have booked her for head, neck and shoulder massage, and reviews of the salon point to these treatments. Many clients report leaving a session feeling lighter, calmer and clearer in mind.
