About
Kayoko Matsumoto is the founder and master stylist at en.SALON, with more than 25 years of experience in hair. She is highly regarded in Japan for haircuts that last and need little upkeep. She built that reputation through word of mouth among clients of all ages before relocating to the United States in 2009.
In Boston she became a stylist many clients sought out, and she has kept a loyal clientele across New England and beyond, with some client relationships lasting more than a decade. Her signature is cutting along the natural flow of the hair so that styles are simple to maintain at home.
She developed the Kayoko Method, a theory-based, systematic way of evaluating bone structure and hair texture. When shaping a style she weighs texture, bone structure, personal features and daily lifestyle, so each cut is built around the person in the chair.
