Katina Miles, MD, FAAD

Katina Miles, MD, FAAD, owns and runs Skin Oasis Dermatology. She is a board-certified dermatologist with more than 15 years in the field. Her work covers dermatology for children, adolescents and adults, with particular attention to skin of color. Training started with a 1999 medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine, followed by a preliminary internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland at Baltimore. From 2000 she trained at Washington Hospital Center, including a melanoma fellowship at the Cancer Institute with melanoma research and a second fellowship in general dermatology focused on psoriasis and acne. Her dermatology residency, finished in 2007 at Georgetown University and Washington Hospital Center, included a term as chief resident, and she has advanced dermoscopy training. Skin cancer detection and treatment with a dermatoscope is one focus, and hair loss affecting ethnic skin is another. She has published in peer-reviewed medical textbooks and journals. She was among What's Up Magazine's Top Docs for 2020, 2021 and 2022, and a January 2021 Forbes article on blue light protection skincare featured her.
