Kate Hunter

Kate is the owner of Kalon and works as a stylist from studio #15 in the salon building. She works with clients of all hair types and textures and is especially known for curly and ethnic hair. A client review on the salon's home page calls her the best choice for people with naturally curly hair.

She trained at the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute cosmetology program and apprenticed under salon owner Emmett Henley before working as an independent stylist. Earlier she worked at Vasuda, which appealed to her because it held that stylists should work with all hair types. Kalon grew out of that training and experience.

She sees a hair appointment as something to enjoy rather than endure, so the shampoo and styling get as much care as the cut or color itself.
