Kara Szczomak

Kara Szczomak is a board-certified Physician Assistant who has practiced dermatology for over 10 years. She performs both medical and cosmetic dermatology for patients of all ages, and she especially enjoys helping patients with acne, psoriasis and eczema.

Her education includes a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Health & Biology from Western Michigan University and a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Barry University in Miami, Florida. During PA school she trained in dermatology under Dr. Rendon in Boca Raton, Florida. She has also practiced medicine in St. Croix, USVI, treating skin of all types.

Kara is a member of the SDPA, AAPA, MAPA and MDS. She attends conferences every year to stay current on treatments, trains current PA students, and serves as a guest lecturer at EMU, with work across several PA programs including EMU, GVSU and OUM.
