About
Joy is the owner and stylist at Joyfully Curly, where she runs a one-on-one boutique studio in Charlotte. She specializes in cutting curly and wavy hair and has more than 20 years of curl cutting experience.
Joy was certified as a Curl Care Consultant in North Carolina in 2006. She studies curl structures following the methods of Lorraine Massey and continues advanced education in curl chemistry. She is partially retired.
Her appointments begin with a dry consultation that looks at density, scalp health and porosity. She cuts hair fully dry, one curl at a time, and coaches clients on caring for and styling their curls during the visit. She is attentive to her clients and their curls and shares education on treating curls.
