About
Jennifer Haddad practices Traditional Chinese Medicine as a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist, and she is also a certified massage therapist and yoga instructor. Her interest in yoga's healing benefits began in 2001. She earned a yoga teacher certification from 8 Limbs Yoga in Seattle, Washington, in 2005, and she became certified in massage therapy in 2006 through a 600-hour program in MI.
Her Traditional Chinese Medicine education includes a Masters from Yo San University in Los Angeles, earned in 2017, and a 3,000-hour program that included more than a year of internship at the Yo San Community Clinic. She completed an externship at Wise and Healthy Aging in Santa Monica and took an additional year of study focused on orthopedics and qi cultivation. After moving to California, she studied a neuromuscular and trigger point approach.
Her work has included spas and physical therapy settings. She currently works alongside Dr. Tracy Stell, a chiropractor at Southbay Spinal Decompression. Her bodywork centers on deep tissue techniques and rehabilitation suited to athletes. Yin Yoga, which is built on Chinese Medicine meridian lines, is her favorite style to practice and teach, and she has continued her yoga training with Sarah Powers, Ana Forrest and Amy Weintraub.
Her yoga classes combine Yin, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Hatha, and she chooses postures based on what she notices during a session. In her Yin classes, each restorative posture is held for at least three minutes, moving from the knees up to the upper back.
