James Depew, MD, FACS

James Depew, MD, FACS is the plastic surgeon and practice owner at Depew Plastics in Atlanta. Before founding the practice he spent nine years as a plastic surgeon and managing partner at a metro Atlanta plastic surgery practice. He has performed thousands of procedures across aesthetic surgery and med spa treatments. He has privileges at Northside Hospital and Wellstar facilities in metro Atlanta. He began his training with bachelor's degrees in chemistry and mathematics, magna cum laude, from Virginia Commonwealth University, followed by a medical degree from the VCU School of Medicine. He completed a general surgery internship at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, a five-year general surgery residency at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah that is affiliated with Mercer University School of Medicine, and a three-year plastic surgery residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. During training he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, received the Arnold P. Gold Foundation award for humanism and excellence in teaching, and was named Surgery Resident of the Year, earning teaching and research awards from Mercer. His focus includes body contouring technologies, and he speaks nationally on them, including Renuvion and Ellacor. He holds a faculty appointment at the University of California Riverside School of Medicine and has published research in the Annals of Plastic Surgery and the Journal of Craniofacial Surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Aesthetic Society, the Southeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Georgia Society of Plastic Surgeons and ASLMS.
