James Depew

James Depew is surgeon and managing partner at Depew Plastics, a plastic surgery practice in Atlanta that he founded. He has performed thousands of procedures spanning aesthetic surgery and med spa treatments. He is board certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He personally handles every consultation, procedure and follow-up visit at the practice. He earned bachelor's degrees in chemistry and mathematics, magna cum laude, from Virginia Commonwealth University, then his medical degree from the VCU School of Medicine. His training includes a general surgery internship at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, a five-year general surgery residency at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, and a three-year plastic surgery residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. His experience covers non-surgical treatments and surgical procedures such as abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, liposuction and facelift. He speaks nationally on body contouring technologies, including Renuvion and Ellacor, and holds a faculty appointment at the University of California Riverside School of Medicine. He consults for and advises Apyx Medical and Cytrellis, and has published research in the Annals of Plastic Surgery and the Journal of Craniofacial Surgery. He has privileges at Northside Hospital and Wellstar facilities in metro Atlanta. He was recognized by the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Society and inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and during training he received the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Aesthetic Society, the Southeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Georgia Society of Plastic Surgeons and ASLMS.
