James Corbett

James Corbett runs James Corbett Studio as its founder and director, having set out on his own in 2007. Before that he was Clairol's color director, a post he was given in 2013. He has worked as a master colorist for more than two decades. His training includes Salon A.K.S., where he studied under Frederick Fekkai and Louis Licari, and Warren-Tricomi NYC, where Jose Eber was among his instructors. He is known for natural-looking highlights and for hair that looks glossy, smooth and healthy, and he teaches color classes. Publications including Allure, ELLE, Cosmopolitan and Harper's Bazaar Australia have featured his work. ELLE named him The Gloss Boss and presented him with its Beauty Genius Award, and Allure has called him one of the country's top colorists. He also founded Hair2Help, a non-profit offering free beauty and wellness services to people with cancer and to their caregivers.
