About
Holly Happe, D.O., is a board-certified physician and the founder of Dr. Happe Medical Aesthetics in Newton's Waban neighborhood. She has more than fifteen years in aesthetic medicine and has practiced it full-time for about six years. Earlier, she split her time between aesthetic work and pediatric anesthesia, and she is also a board-certified anesthesiologist. Her clinical and academic history includes anesthesiology at Lawrence General Hospital from 2017 to the present, an instructor role at Harvard Medical School from 2010 to 2017, and work as Director of the CRICO Medical Simulation Program at Massachusetts Eye and Ear. She also served as an associate professor and clinical director of pediatric anesthesia at Georgetown, worked at Montgomery General Hospital in Olney, Maryland, and helped pioneer operating room simulation programs at Harvard teaching hospitals. In 2001 and 2002 she volunteered at the 121st Evacuation Hospital in Seoul, Korea.
She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000, after a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Temple University in 1996. Her internship was at Brooke Army Medical Center, followed by a residency at Georgetown University Hospital from 2002 to 2005 that included a pediatric fellowship. Her aesthetic training includes a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine and a Medical Aesthetics Certificate from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, both from 2016, along with Allergan Master Injector status, BOTOX training and a dermal fillers certification. Recent courses include a facial ultrasound course in Boston in November 2024, Renuva training in New York City in June 2025, and SCALE in Nashville in May 2025. She received the Harvard Medical School Department of Anesthesia Excellence in Teaching award and was named Most Loved Injector by RealSelf in 2017.
She performs all of her own injections and treatments, and personally performs every BOTOX Cosmetic injection and every Kybella treatment at the practice. Her BOTOX work began in 2006. Her sessions typically begin with low initial doses, and she schedules a two-week follow-up to adjust treatment. Before any Kybella treatment, she assesses facial structure, jawline projection, skin quality, degree of fullness and overall facial harmony. She formulates the medical-grade chemical peels offered at the practice and consults with each patient to choose a peel that suits their skin type and goals. She favors early, proactive treatment, and she recommends whatever suits the patient, which may include injectables, lifestyle changes, a skin care routine or a combination, and she will say when no treatment is needed.
