About

Gregory T. Lynam, M.D., is a plastic surgeon and founded Richmond Surgical Arts in Richmond, Virginia, in 2003. He holds board certification in plastic surgery and in oral and maxillofacial surgery. The site describes him as the only board-certified plastic and maxillofacial surgeon in Richmond. He has also served as Chief of Medical Staff at Stony Point Surgery Center.

His education started at the University of Richmond. He then earned a dental degree and a medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia. Postgraduate work there included a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery, several years of general surgery training, and plastic surgery training covering reconstructive and cosmetic surgery across the whole body. He finished with a one-year cosmetic surgery fellowship under Dr. Howard Tobin at the Cosmetic Surgical Center of Texas.

His surgical work includes traditional, mini and endoscopic tummy tucks, as well as transaxillary sub-muscular breast augmentation, in which implants go in through an armpit incision with an endoscope, leaving the breasts without visible scars. He has also performed tumor surgeries, breast reconstructions and facial trauma surgeries for Richmond patients. For tummy tuck patients, pain control is multimodal and includes Exparel, a long-lasting local anesthetic given during surgery.

According to the site, Richmond Magazine voted him one of Richmond's Top Docs in plastic surgery and named him among its best plastic surgeons in 2010. The site also notes that he is recognized on RealSelf as an expert plastic surgeon and was one of the Top 100 Doctors on RealSelf in 2013.

Approach
After examining a patient, he recommends the tummy tuck option that suits them best and checks for hernias and how skin and fat are distributed during consultation.
