Gregory Day

Gregory Day runs Your Best Image as its principal, president, stylist and owner. Fifteen years of salon ownership and management inform his work in the chair, and he has taught hairlocking classes for nine years. He holds a Texas barber license and is a SisterlocksTM consultant. His education includes a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. His practice centers on natural, coily and textured hair, including Sisterlocks, a micro-locking method that can be done without first cutting chemically straightened hair. He has offered haircare commentary to several outlets, among them The Austin Villager, NOKOA The Observer, The Austin American-Statesman and Carleton College's VOICE, and he has appeared on morning shows on KAZI (88.7 FM). He wrote a 2000 editorial for The Villager on natural haircare and is the author of You Already Have Perfect Hair. He is available to speak on natural hairstyling at health seminars and haircare events.
