About

George Moynihan, MD, is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon who founded Gold Coast Plastic Surgery in Chicago and serves as its founder and medical director. He is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at both Loyola University Medical Center and Rush University Medical Center. He has more than 25 years of experience in facial plastic surgery, and the site describes him as one of Chicago's top facial plastic surgeons.

His training started with a B.A. in Economics from Villanova University, magna cum laude, in 1994, followed by an M.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo, cum laude, in 1998. He completed a general surgery internship at Loyola University Medical Center in 1998 to 1999, an otolaryngology, head and neck surgery residency there from 1999 to 2003, and a fellowship at the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Birmingham, Alabama, in 2003 to 2004. He received first place in the 2002 Lederer-Pierce Research Award from the City of Chicago Otolaryngology Research Competition, was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha in 2001 and Phi Beta Kappa in 1996, and has given grand rounds and national presentations on otoplasty, skin resurfacing, brow lift and cochlear implants.

His practice centers on facial procedures, including facelifts, deep plane facelifts, rhinoplasty, brow lift, eyelid surgery and chin augmentation, as well as facial reconstructive surgery. The site also lists face, breast and body contouring among his areas of expertise. According to the practice, he has performed more than 6,000 facial surgeries and more than 3,750 rhinoplasties. In consultations he reviews before and after photos and computer imagery to show potential results, and he places facelift incisions inside the hairline to conceal scarring. Consultations take place in a private room where concerns are discussed with him and his staff.

Approach
He focuses on natural-looking results and balance, tailored to each patient's facial features.
