About

George Bitar, MD, FACS founded the institute in 2002 and serves as its Founder and Medical Director. He is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery since November 2003. He holds an active Virginia medical license listed from November 2001 and has hospital appointments at INOVA Fairfax, INOVA Mount Vernon and INOVA Alexandria. He describes himself through the site as an award-winning, fellowship-trained surgeon, and the site cites more than 30,000 cosmetic procedures and over 20 years of experience in cosmetic surgery.

He trained at George Washington University School of Medicine, completing his medical degree in 1993, and held a general surgery residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia from 1993 to 1998. He then completed a plastic surgery residency at the University of Virginia from 1998 to 2000 and an advanced aesthetic and breast surgery fellowship at Charlotte Plastic Surgery Center in 2000 and 2001. He also completed an international aesthetic surgery fellowship in 2001, training under Richard Ellenbogen, Ivo Pitanguy, Bryan Mendelson, Alan Widgerow, Vincent Giampapa and Daniel Marchac. He earned a bachelor's degree in biology from George Mason University, and the site says he has trained with surgeons in Brazil, France and the USA and has operated on all six continents.

His surgical focus covers the face, nose, breast and body, including scarless transaxillary breast augmentation, high-definition liposuction, the deep plane facelift and traditional and ethnic rhinoplasty. He developed the Model Lift, offered only at the institute, and he also offers non-surgical treatments. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, served as fellowship program director for the ASAPS-endorsed aesthetic fellowship from 2019 to 2024, and has lectured at medical meetings in the US and abroad. He has contributed chapters and articles to peer-reviewed publications and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the Aesthetic Society.
