About
Evan Sollars is the Hair Color Specialist at Evan the Colorist, working within Vandross Hair Design in Bucktown. He began studying cosmetology in 2007, and early on worked at a L'Oreal National Academy Salon, where he was introduced to balayage.
He later apprenticed at Whittemore House in its specialized hair painting technique. He relocated to New York City in 2014, and now lives in Chicago and works at Vandross Hair Design. His own work has been featured in Elle, Allure, Vogue Brazil and Marie Claire.
His specialties are hair painting for blondes, redheads and low-maintenance hair, with both subtle, natural looks and full transformations.
