Erica

Erica founded Nurture, a doula practice in Hyde Park Square, Cincinnati, and serves as its CEO. Alongside that role she trains doulas and teaches childbirth education. She has worked as a doula since 2006, has personally supported more than 1,000 families, and has spent about 20 years as a birth worker, with over a decade of that time spent helping families get ready for birth. Her credentials are Certified Doula (CLD), Certified Childbirth Educator (CCE), Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (CCHt), and Prenatal Bonding (BA) Specialist (PB(BA)t). She is waterbirth credentialed after training with Barbara Harper of Waterbirth International, and she has started training to become a Postpartum Ayur-Doula. Her private hypnobirthing classes are shaped around each client's goals and whether the birth will take place in a hospital, a birth center or at home. She also provides one-on-one clinical hypnotherapy for birth preparation, anxiety reduction and other personal aims, and she runs birth story sharing circles. She holds seats on the Ohio Doula Advisory Board and the TriHealth Doula Advisory Group, and she is a member of the Cincinnati Area Doula Society, the Buckeye Birth Coalition, the Dayton International Cesarean Awareness Network and Dayton Area Labor Support. She has been interviewed or quoted by Forbes on sleep during pregnancy, Family Education on baby name regret, The Bump on the cost and value of doulas, and Today's Parent on sleep positions after birth. She has also been featured in Parenting, Good Housekeeping and ELLE and has appeared on multiple podcasts.
