Erica Manto Paulson

Erica Manto Paulson is the founding owner and CEO of Nurture in Hyde Park, Cincinnati. She has worked as a birth worker for about 20 years and has personally supported more than 1,000 families as a doula since 2006. She is also a published poet and author, and her book Hunger is available at the Cincinnati Library and online.

She holds certifications as a Certified Doula (CLD), a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (CCHt), a Certified childbirth educator (CCE) and a Prenatal Bonding (BA) Specialist (PB(BA)t). Her teaching includes a postpartum recovery class covering food, rest and simple traditions for the weeks after birth, and a partner class on labor support that covers comfort techniques, positioning and when to speak up. She is listed as the instructor for The First 40 Days: An Ayurvedic Approach to Postpartum Recovery and Dude-la Course: Labor Support for Partners. She works as a doula, trainer and childbirth educator and serves on the Ohio Doula Advisory Board, the TriHealth Doula Advisory Group, the Cincinnati Area Doula Society, the Buckeye Birth Coalition, the Dayton International Cesarean Awareness Network and Dayton Area Labor Support.

Forbes interviewed her about sleep during pregnancy. She was named Ohio Poet of the Year in 2022 for Hunger.
