Eric Meinhardt, MD

Eric Meinhardt, MD, founded California Dermatology Specialists, where he serves as medical director, and he is board certified in dermatology. He first earned a chemical engineering degree at UCLA, finishing magna cum laude, and then trained in medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, where his dermatology residency covered psoriasis, hair loss, skin cancer surgery, complex medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology and laser therapy. Following residency, he moved back to Los Angeles and took a faculty post in the Kaiser Permanente Dermatology Residency Training Program. There he was Associate Program Director and instructed residents in the pulsed dye laser, surgery and injectable filler clinics. Later he stepped away from that faculty role to start his practice. His clinical work includes treating vascular malformations with pulsed dye laser. He has written educational material for the American Academy of Dermatology's medical student curriculum and currently teaches dermatology residents at UCLA. In his view, excellent dermatologic care depends on an accurate diagnosis, a sound treatment plan and a strong bond between patient and doctor.
