Elizabeth M. Chatel

Elizabeth runs Moncure, offering massage therapy and doula services. She has a Washington State Massage License, is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association, and has earned certification from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

Her massage preparation covers 1,000 clinical hours at the Brian Utting School of Massage, technician coursework at the Natural Healing Institute, and cadaver-based anatomy study at Bastyr University. She has also studied craniosacral therapy through the Upledger Institute, completed pre- and perinatal massage training and Active Isolated Stretching Therapy training, and gained an intraoral certification and endorsement. She is currently working toward Mayan Abdominal certification.

Her birth work training includes the Midwifery Assistant Program taught by Ina May Gaskin at The Farm Midwifery Center, Labor Support Doula Training at Seattle Midwifery School, and the Volunteer Doula Program at the University of Washington Birth Center. She finished the Great Starts Childbirth Education Workshop, earned lactation counselor and educator certification at UC San Diego, and is a Certified Gottman Educator for Bringing Baby Home.

Her yoga training includes 200-hour certifications from Spira Power Yoga and Viniyoga, and she completed Rainbow Kids Yoga Training. Her academic background includes an MPH in Epidemiology and Community Health Science from UC Berkeley and a BA in Psychology and Spirituality from Antioch University.
