Dr. Tony Nakhla

Dr. Tony Nakhla is the Medical Director of OC Skin Institute and a board certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon. He works as a Mohs surgeon and skin cancer surgeon, performing Mohs micrographic surgery to remove the most common skin cancers, and he also performs facelifts at the practice. He is a Mohs micrographic and reconstructive skin cancer surgeon. He trained at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, earning a D.O. degree, and is listed with the FAOCD credential. He holds a Medical Board of California license and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Mohs Surgery and the American Osteopathic Association. He has published case reports and surgical technique articles in dermatology journals. He is named a Southern California Super Doctor in 2019 and since 2021, and a Southern California Rising Star in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2019 and 2020. He also received a 2020 Physician of Excellence award from the Orange County Medical Association, a 2013 Best of L.A. feature in Los Angeles Magazine as voted by readers, and a Best Resident Abstract award at the 2007 American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Annual Meeting. He is the author of The Skin Commandments: 10 Rules for Healthy, Beautiful Skin, published by Reedy Press in 2011, and took part in medical outreach trips to Ecuador in 2007, Sinaloa, Mexico in 2008 and Antigua, Guatemala in 2009.
