Dr. Sergio Gaitan is a board-certified dermatologist who founded Certified Cosmetics Dermatology & Laser in West Kendall, Miami, where he practices as a cosmetic dermatologist. He holds an MD and FAAD and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, with more than ten years of clinical work. He has practiced dermatology in South Florida since completing his residency in 2017. He earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering cum laude from the University of Florida, then a medical degree with High Honors from Baylor College of Medicine, and he is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Training after medical school included a transitional year at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego and a dermatology residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Much of his work is cosmetic dermatology built on laser combinations with minimal downtime, including pigment and vascular lasers. He developed laser microneedling, which combines fractional laser energy with microneedling, and he also performs microneedling with the FDA-cleared SkinPen as well as Botox injections. He is a Key Opinion Leader for WONTECH USA and a speaker for Cynosure Lutronic, and he presented on picosecond laser technology at the NAMA Annual Medical Congress in Miami.
