About
Homayoun Sasson, MD, FACS, practices as a plastic surgeon at Sasson Plastic Surgery in Great Neck, New York. He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a New York board-certified plastic surgeon. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He serves as Chief of Plastic Surgery at two Northwell Health hospitals and as a clinical professor at Hofstra's Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine, where he teaches medical students. He also trains residents at Northwell Health hospitals and is an honorary police surgeon for the NYC Police Department. He is affiliated with many hospitals, has published in many medical journals, and has lectured extensively on plastic surgery. His training began at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, followed by a general surgery residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency in the Yale University Hospital program. He then completed a surgical oncology fellowship with the John Wayne Cancer Institute, part of UCLA, and a fellowship in hand and micro-surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He received the best research award in plastic surgery from Yale University Hospital in 1996, the Teaching Consultant of the Year award from Northwell Health Systems, and was selected as August 2021 Culture of Care Winner at North Shore Manhasset Hospital. He was named a 2024 Castle Connolly Top Doctor, in the 21st year of receiving the honor. His cosmetic and reconstructive practice includes facelifts, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), rhinoplasty, breast augmentation with a range of implant options, body contouring, and scar revision. He offers fillers and injectables for facial rejuvenation and reconstructive surgery for cancer and trauma patients. He treats patients of a wide range of ages, ethnicities and genders. He travels to developing countries on volunteer medical missions for reconstructive surgery and encourages residents to join charitable missions.
