Dr. Homayoun Sasson

Dr. Homayoun Sasson holds board certification in plastic surgery from the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He serves as Chief of Plastic Surgery at two Northwell Health hospitals and as a clinical professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra. He is also an honorary police surgeon for the NYC Police Department and has been in practice since 2014. He completed his MD at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, then a general surgery residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Yale University Hospital, then completed a fellowship in hand and micro-surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and a separate fellowship in surgical oncology with the John Wayne Cancer Institute, part of UCLA. His dual training spans plastic surgery and surgical oncology. His practice covers cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, including facial, breast and body surgery, scar revision, and fillers and injectables for facial rejuvenation. He also performs reconstructive surgery for cancer and trauma patients. He has published in medical journals, lectured on plastic surgery, and taken part in international volunteer medical missions offering reconstructive care. He teaches residents and medical students in Northwell Health and Hofstra programs. He received a best research award in plastic surgery at Yale University Hospital in 1996 and has sponsored annual research awards in the Yale plastic surgery residency program.
