Dr. Richard Weiss

Dr. Richard Weiss is an oculoplastic surgeon who specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid surgery and the areas of the face around the eyes. He began practice in 1987, and he has been board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1985.

He studied psychobiology as an undergraduate at New York University from 1970 to 1974, then trained at Temple University School of Medicine from 1974 to 1978. He completed an internship at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, an ophthalmology residency at Georgetown University Hospital from 1980 to 1983, and a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Toronto from 1984 to 1985.

He has used transconjunctival blepharoplasty for lower lids since 1986, and he has injected dermal fillers since 1986 and Botox since 1989. He taught an official Botox course at the American Academy of Ophthalmology from 2004 through 2006, served on the National Education Faculty for Botox Cosmetic, and was one of a select group of Newport Beach physicians in the Juvederm Experience Trial before national availability in January 2007.
