Dr. Rachel Mindin

Dr. Rachel Mindin is an optometrist who sees patients at the Brooklyn and Manhattan offices of New York Laser Vision, where she continues to practice. She joined the practice in 2014 as an ophthalmic technician and held that role until 2018. Since 2019 she has also practiced as an optometrist at Park Slope Family Eye Care. She sees patients aged 18 and older. She holds a bachelor of science in psychology from Stony Brook University, cum laude, and a doctor of optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry. From 2017 to 2019 she was a clinical intern at SUNY College of Optometry. Her clinical externships were at Downtown Eye Care, Gouverneur Hospital, and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. Her clinical work has covered glaucoma, retina, cornea, surgical comanagement, uveitis and neuro-ophthalmology. In 2018 she volunteered as an optometrist with the Eye Health Institute in Jamaica. Her main focus is chronic eye conditions, especially dry eye disease, and she treats eyelid inflammation. She provides preventive care for patients at risk of diabetes-related complications, macular degeneration and glaucoma, and she fits contact lenses and glasses.
