About

Philip Schoenfeld founded Renu by Dr. Schoenfeld in Chevy Chase, Maryland, where he directs the practice and works as a facial plastic surgeon. He also teaches future practitioners in the specialty. He has practiced facial plastic and reconstructive surgery in Washington, DC and Maryland since 1998, sits on the written board review committee, and serves as an oral board examiner for the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He completed his undergraduate degree at Hobart College and his medical degree at New York Medical College, then trained in residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He spent ten years in the U.S. Army, five of them with the 82nd Airborne Division, and later chaired the Department of Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He holds dual board certification in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, and in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, and he is also board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. His credentials are M.D. and F.A.C.S. He is a clinical associate professor of surgery at Georgetown University School of Medicine and practices at Washington Hospital Center, Georgetown University Hospital and Sibley Memorial Hospital. Rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty are the operations he performs most often. His practice also covers facial and eye rejuvenation, blepharoplasty, facelifts and liposuction, using surgical and non-surgical approaches, and he treats trauma patients alongside cosmetic ones. According to the practice, he has performed facelifts for more than 20 years. He personally believes facelifts should not be done on patients under 40. Patients travel from many countries for first and second opinion consultations, which cover medical history, a detailed facial exam, and options such as anesthesia and recovery time. He chooses techniques to suit each patient's anatomy, including graft type and cartilage support, and says he uses newly proven technologies for facial surgery. The practice describes him as a well-respected facial plastic surgeon, lists him as a Top Cosmetic Surgeon by DC Magazine and a Top Doctor by Washingtonian, Castle Connolly and Bethesda Magazine, and notes features in the Washington Post and Parade Magazine.
