Dr. Nissan Pilest

Nissan Pilest, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist who leads Total Dermatology and works on site every day. He has treated patients in Orange County since 1979 and holds Diplomate status from the American Board of Dermatology. His work spans cosmetic, medical and surgical dermatology, with a focus on dermal fillers and laser procedures. He personally performs the practice's dermal filler and neuromodulator injections, including Botox, Juvederm and Dysport. His credentials include the Circle of Excellence in Soft Tissue Fillers from the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, Fellow status with the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and Diamond-level injector and Diamond Botox Cosmetic Physician designations. He also holds advanced certification for Thermage, certified advanced physician status for the Fraxel laser, and the Radiesse Black Card Expert designation, and belongs to the Expert Injector collaboration. He works as a national trainer for Allergan, which makes Botox Cosmetic and Juvederm, and serves as a training physician for Dysport, Juvederm Voluma and Botox. He holds Platinum Restylane status, has laser training roles with Solta Medical Aesthetics, and teaches other doctors at UCI. He is affiliate staff in the Department of Dermatology at Hoag, was elected president of the Dermatological Society of Orange County in 2012, and belongs to the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the California Medical Association and the Orange County Medical Association. He donates time and services to charities supporting cancer patients, including the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation and The Breast Cancer Foundation. The practice calls him award-winning and lists his honors as selection as one of 100 doctors from 6,000 nominees for the 2018 DCA Top 100 Doctors Award, Physician of Excellence for 2015 and 2016 from the Orange County Medical Association, Dermatologist of the Year from the Consumer Business Review, Doctor's Choice Awards in 2014 and 2015, and Best Dermatologist in Irvine for 2012 and 2014. He is one of few physicians in Orange County named to the ExpertInjector program and is a master injector.
