Dr. Margo Aura Emami

Dr. Margo Aura Emami is a physician at AURAE MD in La Jolla, where she personally performs consultations and treatments. She works in aesthetic, regenerative and functional medicine and has more than 30 years of hands-on clinical experience, practicing in San Diego since moving there in 1994 after completing her training. She is an expert in non-invasive and minimally invasive alternatives to surgery and is well versed in current injectable techniques.

She was accepted into a combined BS/MD program at age 17 and graduated summa cum laude in 1990 from Northeast Ohio Medical University, with honors in biochemistry and psychiatry. An internship in surgery, internal medicine and psychiatry followed at Boston University's Framingham Union Hospital, then a residency in anesthesiology, perioperative medicine and pain management within the Harvard Teaching Hospital system. She completed fellowships in anti-aging, regenerative and integrative medicine and in aesthetic anti-aging medicine.

Earlier in her career she set up a perioperative clinic that prepared patients for plastic, reconstructive and orthopedic surgery, with continuing care afterward. She also established a pain management practice and was consulted by surgical facilities to set up their anesthesia departments. Her current work includes bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, injectables and aesthetic consultations. She works with men and women of all skin tones and ages, including patients in their 30s and in their 60s and beyond, and she is available by phone and email between scheduled visits.
