About
Dr. Jonathan Sykes, MD, is the studio's Medical Director and oversees its clinical care. He is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon who directed Facial Plastic Surgery at UC Davis Medical Center for more than 30 years and holds the title of Professor Emeritus of Otolaryngology at the UC Davis School of Medicine. He also spent three years practicing as a facial plastic surgeon with the US Air Force, based at Mather. In 2010 he was elected President of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, having previously sat on its board for ten years, where he held the posts of Western Region Vice President and Vice President of Education. He has performed more than 20,000 surgical procedures, helped train more than 75 residents and 25 fellows, given live demonstration surgeries in over 15 countries, delivered more than 1,000 lectures, edited six textbooks and written over 200 papers and chapters. He received the Academy's William Wright Teaching Award. His focus areas include dermal fillers and Sculptra, facelift, brow lift and eyelid surgery, facial feminization surgery, rhinoplasty and neuromodulator injection technique. He has taught practitioners facial anatomy and injection technique for Botox and is an instructor for filling agents including Sculptra.
