About
Dr. Joanna Chan is a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon serving as lead dermatologist at Dynasty Dermatology. She is board-certified in Mohs micrographic surgery, having completed a Mohs College-accredited fellowship at the California Skin Institute after a dermatology residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She graduated magna cum laude in biochemical sciences from Harvard College and studied at Stanford Medical School, where she developed a Medical Mandarin course. She has over a decade of experience and has performed more than ten thousand Mohs cases. Her work centers on Mohs surgery for skin cancer, with a particular interest in treating patients with skin of color. Skin cancer treatment is fitted to each patient's anatomy, lifestyle and particular needs, and she brings in interdisciplinary medical teams when a case calls for it. Outside of surgery, she provides non-invasive lasers, injectables including Botox, fillers, Radiesse and Sculptra, and lifting procedures. She is clinical faculty at the University of California, Irvine, where she has helped train residents and students. She practiced in Long Beach before moving her practice to Pasadena in 2018, and took over management of the practice that is now Dynasty Dermatology in 2021. She speaks Spanish, Fujian/Taiwanese and Mandarin. She has presented at national conferences and published on melanoma, lasers, surgical techniques and aesthetics; she received the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery's Cutting Edge Research Grant and has been listed among Super Doctors, Castle Connolly Top Doctors, and Pasadena and LA Magazine Top Doctors.
