Dr. James Shea

Dr. James Shea is board-certified both as a pediatric dermatologist and as a dermatologist, and practices at Upper West Side Dermatology. His main area is pediatric dermatology, particularly birthmarks and infantile hemangiomas. His interests also include alopecia, acne and psoriasis, along with cosmetic procedures such as neuromodulators like Botox, fillers and lasers. He earned a bachelor's degree and a medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He then completed a pediatrics residency at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago, followed by a pediatric dermatology fellowship there. His dermatology residency was at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, where he served as chief resident in the final year.
