Dr. Hvistendahl

Dr. Hvistendahl is a board-certified plastic surgeon and the co-founder and Medical Director of Plastic Surgery Specialty Group & MedSpa in Greenbrae, where he leads the practice's team. He has more than 22 years of experience in plastic surgery and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He completed plastic surgery residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). After residency he worked with Dr. John R. Manis, a plastic surgeon in Marin County, and he later partnered with Dr. Stanley Poulos to run the practice, which they co-founded as Plastic Surgery Specialists in 2007.

His work centers on facelifts, body contouring, breast enhancement, and reconstructive surgery. He sees patients of all ages, both men and women, who want changes to their body or appearance, and he finds reconstructive work especially rewarding. He discusses cases and patients with Dr. Poulos on a daily basis.

He has been named a Marin Magazine Top Doctor in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2020. The site describes him as award-winning and lists a Best Plastic Surgeon award from Pacific Sun in 2024. He is also a published coauthor in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
