About

Dr. David Caplin is a board-certified plastic surgeon practicing at Parkcrest Plastic Surgery in St. Louis, Missouri. He holds a BA in biology with honors from Kenyon College and an MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His memberships include the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

His practice centers on facial cosmetic surgery, including deep plane facelifts, suspension necklifts, eyelid procedures, browlifts and facial fat grafting. Many patients come to him to revise facial surgery that was performed elsewhere, and he also revises breast surgery done by other surgeons, including implant removal and replacement. He performs breast lifts, breast reductions and corrections of breast deformities, as well as ultrasonic liposuction, SmartLipo laser-assisted liposuction and body contouring. His experience in facial surgery and revisional work is extensive, and patients travel to him from across the country and abroad.

Earlier in his career he was a principal investigator in FDA-sanctioned national studies of new breast implants, including memory shape implants. He was one of the two highest-volume users of memory shape implants in the United States during those trials. He has authored or co-authored papers on breast implants and facial cosmetic surgery. He is listed as a Top Doctor from 2014 to 2023, and as one of the Best Doctors in St. Louis and in America over the same years. He also received the 2013 Visionary Award from Gateway to Hope, the 2010 Citizenship and Community Service Award from the Missouri State Medical Association, and the Georgia Frontiere Community Quarterback Award. In 2006 he co-founded Gateway to Hope, a breast cancer charity.
