Dr. Cherise Levi

Dr. Cherise Levi opened Ayana Dermatology & Aesthetics in 2020, which she founded. She is board-certified in dermatology and a Fellow of both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. Her practice spans medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, treating people of every age, gender and skin type, and the practice describes her as an industry-leading dermatologist. For hair loss, she identifies the type involved, including inflammatory and scarring forms, and plans restoration treatment that may combine KeraLase with medical-grade products when suitable.

Her education began at the University of Florida, where she completed a dual degree in chemistry and nutritional science summa cum laude and was inducted into the Psi Sigma Alpha National Honor Society. She went on to medical school at Nova Southeastern University, finishing first in her class. Her dermatology residency took place at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, which holds Level II trauma designation, and she served there as chief resident.

For several years she practiced in Manhattan while holding a faculty attending appointment at Columbia University and New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She also worked with a chemist at a skin care company on developing and testing formulations. Her research includes NIH-sponsored work at Case Western Reserve University on atopic dermatitis in children, and she served as principal investigator in an IRB-led study on pigmentation product development and melasma treatment. She has published numerous dermatology articles, lectured nationally, mentored young physicians, and led global health panels and community outreach for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Emerging Leaders organization. She has also provided medical care and education in rural communities in India.
