About

Dr. Caridi founded Westlake Plastic Surgery in Austin, Texas, and also owns the Austin Gynecomastia Center, which opened around 2010. He began practicing as a plastic surgeon in July 1992, first as a group practitioner and later as a partner at Suburban Plastic Surgery Associates in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, a role he held until 2000. In May 2000 he set up Westlake as a solo practice. He reports more than 35 years of aesthetic surgical experience. He holds active staff status at Seton Southwest Hospital, Seton Northwest Hospital, Seton Medical Center of Austin and The Hospital at Westlake Medical Center. According to the practice, Austin Monthly has named him one of Austin's top plastic surgeons each year, and the website describes him as one of the best doctors in Austin. His work is limited to cosmetic plastic surgery, centered on rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty, gynecomastia surgery, breast lift with implants and mommy makeovers. According to the rhinoplasty page, he has performed hundreds of rhinoplasty procedures. He reports thousands of breast reductions and developed the breast reduction with augmentation technique, refined over more than 20 years. He also has extensive experience removing breast implants, including en bloc and capsulectomy approaches, and he handles breast revision, breast reduction and breast lift. Patients travel to him from across the country and abroad, and he welcomes local and out-of-town patients, including through virtual consultations. In rhinoplasty he aims for natural, balanced results, making adjustments measured in millimeters and shaping the bridge and tip carefully while keeping the nose's structure for long-term stability. For breast augmentation he judges implant size by hands-on sizing with each patient instead of computer imaging or AI simulations, and he says smaller implants are often the most sustainable choice over time. For breast lift with implants he decides implant type and placement with each patient and favors the vertical lift with a lollipop-shaped scar, using the anchor pattern rarely, possibly in patients with larger breasts. Breast reduction patients are seen several times before surgery, and breast size is described by percentage of change rather than cup size. The site says he uses the latest surgical techniques and advanced implant materials, and that he personally reviews online consultation submissions, emailing an evaluation with recommendations and pricing. The site states he has performed over 500 breast lift with implant procedures. According to the site, patients describe him as approachable, thorough and invested in their outcomes.

Approach
He gives candid guidance and will recommend waiting, a different operation, or no surgery when he believes that is better.
