Dr. Balvant Arora, MD, MBA

Dr. Balvant Arora, MD, MBA, is a board-certified plastic surgeon who leads The Hair Loss Clinic and serves as its hair transplant surgeon. His work centers on hair, from treating hair loss and promoting growth to transplants, and he also has experience in plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, including anti-aging medical treatments and surgeries. He has studied the science of hair, including genetics and the factors that influence it, and he designed the clinic's THLC Hair Analysis exam. He performs motorized FUE hair transplants and works with patients of all genders, age groups and ethnicities. His training began with a general surgery residency at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York from 1995 to 1998, followed by a plastic surgery residency at Oregon Health Sciences University from 1998 to 2000. In 2001 he completed a one-year cosmetic surgery fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital, and in 2013 he earned an MBA in Healthcare Management. Before coming to the United States, he was certified as a plastic surgeon by the Medical Council of India. He received ECFMG certification in 1994 and arrived in the US in September 1992, and he has practiced there for 21 years. He was appointed assistant professor in the plastic surgery division at Stony Brook, where he took part in research and teaching. In 2008 he relocated to Fredericksburg, Virginia, as a staff plastic surgeon at Mary Washington and Stafford Hospitals, and he later served as Chief of Surgery and President of Medical Staff at Stafford Hospital. He is active in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, holds associate membership in the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, and has presented at conferences in the US and abroad. He is award-winning, and he has been named to the Top Plastic Surgeons of Northern Virginia list for many years.
