Dr. Alex Caniglia

Dr. Alex Caniglia is a facial plastic surgeon who co-leads Caniglia Facial Plastic Surgery in Scottsdale, Arizona. He joined the practice after his father, Dr. Ron Caniglia, founded it, and the two now lead it together. He holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. A five-year Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Illinois Chicago followed, where he was named Chief Resident in his fifth year and performed more than 2,000 procedures, with a strong emphasis on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, neck and nose. He completed a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship in Indianapolis under Dr. Stephen W. Perkins and Dr. Mark Hamilton, which the practice counts among the country's top fellowships. His research has appeared in Facial Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine, Thieme Facial Plastic Surgery and Laryngoscope. His surgical practice spans facelifts and neck lifts, including the deep plane technique, along with rhinoplasty, upper and lower eyelid surgery, brow lifts, lip lifts and enhancements, otoplasty, facial liposuction, and cheek, chin and midface implants. He also performs buccal fat excision and laser skin resurfacing, and has advanced training in scar revision. Beyond cosmetic work, he performs reconstructive procedures such as tissue repair after Mohs surgery, dog bites and other lacerations. Injectable treatments include BOTOX Cosmetic, Daxxify, Juvederm, Restylane and Revance.
