Dr. Adam R. Kolker

Dr. Adam R. Kolker practices as a double board-certified plastic surgeon in Manhattan, where he started his private practice in 2000. He also holds an appointment as Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery (Plastic Surgery) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He has published more than 20 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, speaks at national and international meetings, and has appeared in the media as a plastic surgery expert. He was admitted to medical school at 17 and graduated with honors at 23 from a six-year accelerated biomedical program at Union College and Albany Medical College, earning a Doctor of Medicine with concentrations in biology and fine arts. He did his general surgery residency at New York Medical College and St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan. He then trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, completed craniofacial surgery training in Melbourne, Australia, and did microsurgery research at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at NYU Medical Center. In total, he completed about ten years of residency and fellowship training, including a chief residency. He has also served as a surgical volunteer with Operation Smile and Smile Asia, has travelled to communities in Africa, Asia, Central and South America and India to care for children, and sits on the board of the Bright Smiles Organization. His focus is cosmetic surgery of the breast, body and face. For breast augmentation he sets individual aesthetic goals suited to each patient's body type. The lift technique is chosen during a private consultation, and filler type is selected based on each patient's anatomy and goals. Consultations cover facelift, breast augmentation, liposuction, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty and tummy tuck, and he performs eyelid surgery, brow lifts, otoplasty, under-eye fat transfer, Botox and dermal filler injections, and in-office fractional laser resurfacing (Active FX).
