Douglas S. Steinbrech, MD, FACS, is a board-certified plastic surgeon who sees patients at the New York, Beverly Hills and Chicago locations. He holds certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, part of the American Board of Medical Specialties, along with New York State and California medical licenses and a United States DEA license. He has been an attending surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital since 2004 and has held clinical appointments at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital.

His training ran from 1994 to 2004 at New York University: a general surgery internship and residency from 1994 to 2001, then a plastic surgery residency at the NYU Institute of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from 2001 to 2004. Before that, he studied at the University of Iowa College of Medicine from 1989 to 1994, after earning a B.S. in Biology with honors from the University of Iowa in 1988. He also completed a craniofacial research fellowship at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery from 1997 to 1999. Part of his training was at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, under mentors McCarthy, Aston, Baker, Tabbal and Pittman.

He was a founding partner and plastic surgeon at Gotham Plastic Surgery from 2006 to 2023, and in 2023 he founded Alpha Male Plastic Surgery, where he serves as plastic surgeon. He teaches NYU plastic and reconstructive surgery residents at Bellevue Hospital and fellows at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. He has been lead author of ten peer-reviewed publications and co-author of more than forty others, and he has edited and written books on male aesthetic plastic surgery published by Thieme. His work has appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and W Magazine, and he received the 2017 Chinese CACAPS Innovation Award for BodyBanking.

His practice covers face and body plastic surgery, with an emphasis on body contouring, including male body procedures, breast augmentation and tummy tucks. He takes a minimally invasive approach to both surgical and non-surgical treatments. For Botox Cosmetic he uses a conservative approach aimed at a natural look that keeps facial expression, treating forehead lines, glabellar lines, crow's feet and bunny lines. He reviews the benefits and limitations of brow lift treatment at each consultation.
