About
Douglas M. Monasebian lists the credentials MD, DMD and FACS and serves as Medical Director and Surgical Director of Park Avenue Plastic Surgery. He is dual board certified in plastic surgery, with diplomate status from both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He also teaches at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, where his faculty appointments are as an instructor and as a professor of plastic surgery. He was trained surgically in plastic, reconstructive and maxillofacial procedures. His practice covers facial rejuvenation and facial reconstruction, along with breast, body, non-surgical, pediatric and emergency plastic surgery. He does facelifts, forehead lifts, blepharoplasty and other procedures on the face, and has carried out revision rhinoplasty to improve how the nose functions and looks. His reconstructive work includes jaw and oral cancer reconstruction using bone grafts and flaps, treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders, and bite correction through orthognathic surgery and maxillomandibular advancement. He collaborates with dental specialists on osseointegrated implants and does soft tissue cosmetic work for patients who have had cosmetic dentistry. He has restored function and form to the facial nerve and trigeminal branches and repairs the lingual nerve. He sits on the Cleft Team that cares for children born with cleft lip or cleft palate, treats newborns with cleft lip, and performs mandible augmentation for older adults. Each reconstructive patient receives an individualized plan after evaluation.
