Derek Sansone

Derek Sansone is the master stylist and founder of Derek Sansone Hair. He trained at The Ogle School and began his career in 1993. After school he moved to New York City, where he apprenticed at Bumble and Bumble and worked as an editorial stylist assistant to Oribe. He later returned to Dallas to join Looker Hair Group, then spent time in Santa Monica in 2006 helping open a salon for Kyle Mathis.

He came back to Dallas in 2008, recruited by Frederic Fekkai to help launch the Dallas salon there. He spent over five years with Frederic Fekkai before opening his own salon. In total he has more than 30 years working as a stylist.

His focus includes balayage highlighting, color correction, grey coverage and men's color. He cuts with the French method and also knows the British technique, and he bases his designs on couture fashion methods, aiming for a result made to suit each client.
