Derek H. Jones, MD

Derek H. Jones, MD, is the Director of Skin Care & Laser Physicians of Beverly Hills, which he started in 1999. A board-certified dermatologist and Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, he finished his dermatology residency at Columbia University in New York in 1997 as Chief Resident, after completing a Bachelor of Science with high honors at Tufts and a Doctor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Between 1999 and 2017 he held a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine appointment at UCLA. His clinical focus is minimally invasive facial aesthetics, using injectable fillers, BOTOX and lasers, and he also practices general and cosmetic dermatology, diagnosing and treating skin disorders. He has been a dermatology expert on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and Lifetime. The practice says the Consumer's Research Council of America listed him among America's Top Dermatologists in 2010, and it calls him a world-renowned aesthetic dermatologist. His publications include more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and several textbook chapters. He edited Injectable Fillers: Principles and Practice and is working on a forthcoming book on facial contouring and shaping. He has given over 300 scholarly lectures, often as an invited speaker at dermatology meetings, and has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery, Aesthetic Surgery and Medicine, and the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy. In clinical trials he was Principal Investigator for studies leading to FDA approval of Juvéderm, Juvéderm Ultra Plus, Belotero, Latisse and Xeomin, and Lead Investigator on the FDA study for Kybella and Juvéderm Voluma. He is on the board of directors of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, serves on the postgraduate education committees of that society and the American Academy of Dermatology, is a fellow of both, and is a member of the American Medical Association.
