Delio Ortegon, MD, FACS

Dr. Ortegon is a board certified plastic surgeon and the president and director of San Antonio Cosmetic Surgery, a practice he founded to serve patients in San Antonio and nearby communities. He holds board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and belongs to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has more than 19 years in practice and offers care in English and Spanish. His training began with a B.A. in Microbiology from the University of Texas at Austin and a medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, followed by general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery residencies at University Hospital in San Antonio. He has served as Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Christus Santa Rosa Medical Westover Hills Hospital and holds a clinical faculty appointment in plastic surgery at the University of Texas Health Center in San Antonio. Breast and body work is his main focus, covering breast augmentation (including Rapid Recovery and Natural Breast Augmentation), face lifts, liposuction, eyelid surgery and tummy tucks. He specializes in fast-recovery breast augmentation. He has presented at meetings of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons and has published in Microsurgery and The Journal of Trauma, Infection, and Critical Care. He also wrote a chapter on pediatric thermal injury for a pediatric surgery text. Honors include the Alexander Competition award from the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, recognition as a Longhorn 100 recipient from The Texas Exes, and designation as a Texas Monthly Super Doctor for ten consecutive years.
